The Brief

A challenging and extensive project, our brief from the Lindal Valve Co. Ltd involved the refurbishment of areas within a factory operating 24/7, as well as of office space in close proximity to the factory floor: including a training room, server room and new canteen. The project was run under the Health & Safety Executive CDM Regulations 2015 and is currently entering a 4th phase.

Project Scope

• Reconfigure factory mezzanines and walkways
• Acoustic partitioning
• Durable flooring + LED lighting
• Canteen refit
• Server room and storage space

Our Solution

Sections of the mezzanines and walkway – in close proximity to the machines and factory staff – were removed and reconfigured to ensure the area was safe and usable.

With sound reduction of paramount concern, acoustic glass and a high partitioning specification were then deployed to reduce the noise from the factory throughout the office space.

The office refit encompassed: offices, training room, quiet/first aid room, communication/server room, storage area and a new canteen.

“Lindal Valve Co Ltd used Meridian Group on a couple of projects before embarking on this large-scale office and shop floor conversion. Meridian were involved from day 1: from the scope of works to the final handover. Weekly site meetings were key to managing this 20-week program.

Their ability to manage tight deadlines, in sometimes difficult working conditions showed through, in their detailed work plans, permit controls and contractor management. The end result has created for Lindal an openplan factory floor and modern office environment.”
