Office Furniture & Feature Walls in Milton Keynes

Meridian Interiors was commissioned to fit out the newly built Campbell Park Community Council Hub, a modern space designed to serve both the local community and council staff. The hub features a welcoming cafÃĐ and flexible open areas for community use, alongside offices and council chambers. Our brief was to deliver a functional and inviting environment through considered space planning and carefully selected furniture. We designed solutions that cater to both public and employee needs, while incorporating timber slatting to enhance the overall aesthetic and create a warm, contemporary feel.

Communal Space

The communal space was thoughtfully designed with workstations arranged around the perimeter and a central meeting area at its core. Several places within the office were dedicated to biophilia, with open shelving units serving both as functional storage and stylish partitions. These shelves feature modern design elements such as steel mesh and felt backings, adding a contemporary touch to the space.

To promote a sense of autonomy, employees were invited to choose the colour of their seating, resulting in a vibrant mix throughout the workstation areas. Each workstation is equipped with a desk-end pull-out storage unit, which includes an integrated planter box and a built-in pen tray for added convenience.

At the heart of the layout, the central meeting area serves as a dedicated collaborative space for employees, supporting both informal discussions and structured teamwork.

Individual Office

To create a functional and private office environment, we designed a layout that included a dedicated workstation, storage wall units, and a compact meeting table. Brightly coloured office chairs added a warm touch to the space, while a full wall of timber slatting introduced a contemporary aesthetic.

Multi-Use Room and Council Chambers

The ground floor of the building was designed to accommodate both a dynamic community space and the formal requirements of council chambers. To achieve this, a large open area was divided using an operable wall, allowing the space to be easily reconfigured based on the needs, illustrated in the 2D layout below:

Large rectangular table and orange padded chairs

On one side, the multi-use community room features configurable desking solutions and stackable chairs in a vibrant orange finish, promoting both versatility and an inviting atmosphere. This setup supports a wide range of activities, from workshops to public gatherings.

On the other side, the council chambers are equipped with a combination of rectangular and deltoid-shaped desks, offering flexible arrangements for meetings and official functions. Seating in this area is finished in a fresh green tone and the chairs have lockable casters, ensuring ease of movement and adaptability within the space.

Wellbeing Room

A smaller room located on the ground floor has been thoughtfully designed to provide a quiet, supportive space for employees or members of the public. Furnished with simple yet comfortable pieces, the room fosters a calm and relaxed atmosphere.

To ensure durability without compromising on comfort, the sofas are upholstered in commercial-grade fabric, offering both longevity and a welcoming environment for informal conversations or moments of respite.
