Fit-out & Refurbishment in Milton Keynes – UCC

Nine years after Meridian Interiors successfully refurbished UCC’s offices in Tilbrook Milton Keynes, we were invited back to transform their new UK Head Quarters at Linford Wood Milton Keynes. Project Kodama commenced in March 2026 with a 6-month programme developed to fit-out the building with new facilities tailored to UCCs specific requirements. A new staff canteen, library and meeting room were required on the first floor. Customer Experience facilities were designed to reflect the dynamic nature of their business and the strength of their brand worldwide. Existing office areas were designed to be converted into specific workspaces for R&D and Technical development teams. The key development of the design was a new four hundred square meter steel Mezzanine floor structure which would provide additional small parts storage and to house a stunning new production space, the engine room for UCCs UK operations! Additional supplementary works to the warehouse included a new sectional access door and a two tonne goods lift to supplement the new Mezzanine floor. Finally, new branded signage was applied to the building façade to welcome UCC to their new home.

Our Solution

FRONT OF HOUSE

Meridian Interiors worked closely with the architect and appointed MEP consultants to develop the concept designs and then drive the construction phase forward. Following minor demolition works we took the concepts for new curved drywall partitions, glass screens and bespoke joinery and brought these to life.

The front facing coffee bar and customer experience areas all received new bespoke joinery cabinetry with dedicated power and water provisions provided to facilitate UCCs equipment. Areas were redecorated and then new LVT flooring finishes were laid.

The R&D, Events, Technical and Training rooms were completely fitted out with new partitioning, new lighting, non-slip vinyl sheet flooring, redecoration and further bespoke joinery, again containing a network of power and plumbing services to suit UCCs needs.

The curved partition wall to the Customer Experience area incorporated bespoke curved sliding doors, a full branded graphic wrap with angled feature hardwood slatting which has provided a stunning, professional back drop to this space.

WAREHOUSE

Meridian Interiors took the designs developed by the architect and structural engineer to fabricate a new steel Mezzanine floor with columns set into new concrete padstones to the existing subfloor. Once the steel frame was erected a steel deck was laid over ready to receive a poured concrete upper level.

Underneath the Mezzanine floor UCCs new Production Facility was created. The production facility was enclosed to a 60 minute fire rated standard with new drywall and laminated doors. A new resin floor system was laid and the area fully decorated.

New HVAC Systems, lighting, fire alarm systems, comms cabling, compressed air, water/waste provisions and power was installed to facilitate the designed layout of workbenches.

This state-of-the-art Production facility was created and delivered to provide UCC with everything they needed to increase production and drive their operations forward. Further enhancements to the space included the installation of a new 2-tonne goods lift and a sectional warehouse door.
