In the washrooms, a key objective was to maximise space. We identified the oversized vanity furniture as an issue and employed our expertise in space planning, to introduce modern joinery solutions. We sourced slimmer semi-inset vanity units, along with new sanitary ware and cubicles that improved both space and functionality. New vinyl safety flooring and tall radiators contributed to a safe, modern environment. To facilitate hot water services, we installed a large electrical water heater in a nearby plant room.
On the first-floor landing, we retained the existing timber frames, redecorating them, and added bespoke laminate doors to create a fresh, modern aesthetic.
A complete redecoration included repainting the Holophane prism logo, ensuring it stands out vibrantly against the crisp white walls.
The main highlight of this area was the installation of a glass balustrade, which replaced the old metal version, allowing more light to filter through.
For the ground floor, which sees high foot traffic from visitors due to Holophane’s international presence, it was essential to make a strong impression. We utilised bespoke preserved moss green wall elements in the corridors, fitting them between natural slatting to create a warm, inviting atmosphere, complemented by custom skirting.
Additionally, we created a recessed display cabinet within the timber slatted wall, featuring an attractive timber surround and glass doors.
It has been a pleasure to work on this next phase of refurbishment, enhancing the welcoming spaces for both staff and visitors. Our efforts are helping to make Holophaneâs offices in Milton Keynes an inviting and enjoyable place to be.
